This workshop is for individuals 50 AND OVER that are looking for reliable ways to ease the stress, anxiety, and depression over the countless challenges we all face as we age. The workshop also benefits everyone seeking to enhance satisfaction in the later part of life, regardless of their physical condition. At the workshop you will learn the following by interacting in fun and educational experiences:

- To identify the unique needs that emerge after you turn 50; what they are and how to meet them to enjoy life satisfaction for as long as you live
- How to age avoiding needless misunderstandings and conflicts within ourselves, our families, and our community
- How to break free from being affected by negative age beliefs and ageism
- How to boost your unique inner strengths that contribute to your wellbeing

All of the information presented is based on research in the field of aging. You can make this workshop more enjoyable if you attend with a partner, a friend, a group of friends or with family members. However, if you attend by yourself, you will learn just the same. You are cordially invited to be part of this unique, interactive, and transformative experience that will add more life to your years!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Michael Philip is a Positive Psychology Practitioner with a BA in Psychology, MA in Communication Arts and in Media Studies. For thirty years he has worked in Organizational Training & Development, Family Support & Prevention Services, and Community Facilitation in the private sector, for non-profits, and for the State of Florida. His AGING SMART/AWARENESS workshop developed from his attempts to understand the reasons his siblings, caregivers, medical providers, and he grappled to help his parents meet their needs for life satisfaction as they aged. He has learned through research in the fields of Psychology and Neuroscience that as we age a unique set of needs emerge that seek fulfillment. Not meeting these needs could lead to stress, anxiety, and depression as we age. Conversely, meeting these needs is related to experience what we understand wellbeing to be in the later part of life.

Michael's Aging Smart/Awareness Workshop provides an educational and engaging setting for the participants to become aware of these unique needs and the skillset needed to fulfill them to experience wellbeing as they age, independent of their physical condition. He wishes he could have shared this knowledge with his now deceased parents. It is his wish for others to benefit from what he has learned. "I guess this is my parents’ legacy! I am grateful to present my workshop at Williams Hall." - Michael Philip
